Cannibal Corpse – Torture

Track-By-Track: Album Review

Torture is the upcoming twelfth studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse. The album was produced at Sonic Ranch Studios by Hate Eternal guitarist Erik Rutan. Torture is due out on March 13, 2012 in North America through Metal Blade Records.

1. Demented Aggression –This song is a really fast one. It starts of with a blast beat then George Corpsegrinder starts belting out the lyrics and they are very fast.. very cool. The song hits a half time feel in the middle for just a moment and heads back into the blast beat as George screams Demented Aggression! Killer solo near the end. Great opening song. This is the 1^st single off the album.

2. Sarcophagic Frenzy – This song is sick! It sounds like a chugging freight train when it starts. George’s lyrics crash in then the drums go in to an awesome thrash beat. Then it slows to a halftime beat then smashes back into the thrash beat. Then into the super heavy chugging guitar again. There are some really cool drum fills in this song. Nice solo and guitar work in mid song. There are many different part changes in this song which makes it very diverse and that is what we were looking for in this album. We are off to a great start!

3. Scourge of Iron – Starts off with super fast double kick beat then slows down to a real slower half tempo beat with grinding slower guitar chugging along. This is a real halftime head banging song. Picks up to double time halfway through then back to the half time feel with some cool double kick beats thrown in for good measure. Good solo near the end really cuts through the heavy guitar sound. This song really shows the diversity in the album which is what CC was going for when they were making it.

4. Encased in Concrete – Fast crazy opening with a guitar solo right off the bat .. it really brings me back to the Reign in Blood days of Slayer. George starts smashing out the vocals in in a very fast tempo way. There are some really cool drum fills and blast beats in this one. Corpsegrinder just kills the vocals. There are some really cool lyrics and tempo changes in this song as well. One of my favorites definitely.

5. As Deep As The Knife Will Go – Man I thought Encased in Concrete was fast .. this one just smashes… starts off with a sick blast beat with vocals over it then settles down into a half tempo speed. Real cool guitar play in this one as one guitar keeps the fast riff and the other plays in behind it. There is some nice double kicking along with the fast picking as well. Nice solo near the end of the song over some fast double kick.

6. Intestinal Crank – Opens up really cool with some nice climbing guitar riffs, at a half time feel. Then it smashes into a blast beat with Corpsegrinder belting out some quick vocals. Love the guitar in this one, George has some creepy left panned vocal screams that really cut through. The riff changes halfway through and it has an old school Cannibal Corpse sound with the ride cymbal cutting through. Nice solo at the end, really different feel to it and the drum tempo also changes through the solo, smoking song. Definitely another one of my favorites, really like the creeping guitar riffs in this one. Sounds a lot like something off Kill!. Play this live guys!

7. Followed Home Then Killed – Starts off with some distorted guitar picking and booming drums over top. It then jumps into a faster beat with some double kick with a very groovy feel to the guitar riff. Some cool lyrics on this one. Lots of heavy tom action. The solo in this song is one of the best on the album, has some real tasteful parts and some real squealing feedback stuff as well. The guitar playing in this one is some of the best playing on the entire record. This song has a very different feel then most of the others.

8. The Strangulation Chair – Starts off with a cool half time feel driven by the classic Cannibal Corpse ride cymbal beat. Then goes into some fast double kick over some halftime guitar. The guitar riffs in this one are awesome they have a neat feel and timing, mixed with the steady drum beat, it makes it very interesting. In the middle of the song there are some drum fills and then this real fast solo bass part that really brings you back and reminds you of their biggest hit ‘Hammer Smashed Face’. The bass playing on this song is outstanding and really stands out. This is a really interesting song, lots of different stuff going on in this one.

9. Caged…Contorted – Starts off with some mid temp double kick with some cool guitar harmonies.. first verse is mid tempo, then the guitar changes into a new riff and they go into another thrashy beat.. Corpsegrinder is just right on the money with the vocals. The bass stands out again in this one, Alex is just awesome on this CD. There is some cool double kick patterns matched with the guitar and they go through some starts and stops. Really cool solo with a kind of half time feel to it. Another sick one that really stands out!

10. Crucifier Avenged – Starts with a cool riff and goes into a classic Cannibal Corpse half time feel. Changes into some nice mid tempo double kick, Corpsegrinder real takes the lead on this one as his vocals real cut the chugging guitar riffs. Halfway through the song it hits a real groovy half time feel, real chugging guitars in this one. The solo kicks in and the fast double kick starts up. Ends with a sick blast beat, another solid song.

11. Rabid – Bang this one starts off with drums, guitar and vocals right off the bat in a nice double time feel. Some nice guitar runs in it. George is pushing out some faster vocals with some nice “rabid” growls. Some nice bass licks again in this one, some nice tempo changes. Nice fast crazy solo, which goes into some really fast picking. Ends with a crazy bass lick that fades out.

12. Torn Through –This one opens up with a crazy fast blast beat. George is just smoking on the vocals, just barking the lyrics out. The blast beat just keeps going until they hit this real cool half time beat. Man this song would be just awesome live, it just rips and hits a smoking guitar solo. The blast beat starts in again and goes to the end of the song. Some unreal vocals in this one. This is a perfect song to end the album with. Another one that I hope they play live.

"We want all the songs to be brutal death metal, but we also want them to be instantly identifiable from one another, and that's something that is definitely true of the songs on Torture” states bassist Alex Webster. "I haven't been this excited about a release in a long time," enthuses drummer Mazurkiewicz. "We worked so hard at it and we hope that the fans feel the same way we do. Being out there and getting to play these songs live will once again prove to people we're not going anywhere. We're not going through the motions, we're really trying to be the best band we can be, and we're just getting better."

‘Torture’ will absolutely demolish everything in its path and will murder everything else out there. Overall the new Cannibal Corpse album is just awesome, they stayed true to their sound with some diversity and some cool twists and turns. It is really great to see the different song structures and diversity throughout the entire album! This is truly one of best records Cannibal Corpse have ever made. I definitely recommend buying this album. Go see them live and be lucky if you make it out of the mosh pit unscathed or alive.

Death-metal legends Cannibal Corpse are releasing their 12th album, Torture, on March 13. You can be the first to hear the third song on that disc, “Scourge of Iron,” below.

Our Track Review!: Starts off brutal then gets much slower and very doomy. This song has a really wicked short solo in it! I think this song will show the diversity on Torture. This is a down tempo pounding song that is one you just want to listen to on repeat over and over again. This song is still death metal but it is on the other side of the spectrum compared to the first single off “Torture” titled, Demented Aggression. This song shows that the new album will be very diverse and I think that so far from what we have heard they are succeeding! On March 13th you’ll get to decide whether or Cannibal Corpse fully succeeded.

DragonForce have revealed details of their forthcoming new album. Entitled 'The Power Within,'this 10-track collection marks the band's fifth studio album and its first with new singer Marc Hudson behind the microphone. It will be released April 17 by Roadrunner Records in the U.S.

Guitarist Herman Li said, "The last two years have been the most fun we ever had making an album. Through writing, jamming and touring together, we have built this incredible energy and it has been fully captured on the new album."

The DragonForce axeman also claims the album boasts the fastest song the band has ever recorded. He continued, "This time around we've really brought our metal side to the surface and made some of the best music of our career. From the fastest song we've ever recorded to the slower songs, and some things you would never expect from us, this is by far the most diverse DragonForce album yet."

My Ticket Home 'To Create A Cure' Full Album Review!

To Create A Cure, the debut full-length from band My Ticket Home of Columbus, Ohio, produced by Caleb Shomo (Attack Attack!) Is a very suitable theme of 2012. Controversial end of the world or not, this album will leave you with a definite bang-over, induced by My Ticket Home's heavy breakdowns, and un-relenting vocals by lead vocalist Nick Giumenti. They do maintain a stronger, yet melodic soft side throughout the album, featuring clean vocals sung by former guitarist/vocalist Sean Mackowski. The album has a strong presence of talented drum and guitar parts throughout, coming from other members Matt Galluci (Guitar), Luke Fletcher (Bass) and Marshal Giumenti (Drums).

The album starts with a fun and fast track entitled A New Breed, that begins with a part reminiscent of classic hardcore/punk with relentless vocals, and just as relentless drums and guitars. There's an almost eerie, reverb-loaded piano transition that leads directly into the very passionate chorus, that really adds something cool to the song.

Who Is 67? Is the second track on the album, started off with "Am I the victim" screamed, leading into a mind-blowing, head-exploding breakdown that will definitely leave you with whiplash if you really get into it. After a quick change of pace there is a very heartfelt, melodic chorus. Also to be noted: the strong theme of the movie Shutter Island adds a feeling of darkness to the lyrics and song itself.

The third track, Atlas, is my personal favorite on the album. It begins with great drums and a sweet clean guitar riff that continues throughout with the addition of a more distorted guitar, and a very loveable melody. It is then followed by a short but sexy part featuring some clean vocals, then leads into a fast part, turning up the heat. It ends abruptly with that familiar clean guitar riff and melody from the beginning, leading into quite the chorus. Later in the song, there's a well-placed gang vocal chant reciting the words "They're all around us", which is sure to give you chills. Overall, this song contains a great balance of singing and screaming overtop of some awesome instrumental tracks.

The Truth Changes If We Both Lie, track 4, is one of the softer songs on the album, but it still maintains speed and keeps the feel of My Ticket Home. The melodies in this song make the entire song feel like a big, constantly changing chorus, with the addition of a short-but-sweet guitar solo. Sean Mackowski's singing in this song is nothing less than beautiful, with lyrics that hold a ton of passion.

Beyond is the 5th song on the album, that features Nick Giumenti's screams throughout the entire song, almost to even the scales from track 4. It begins with a nice jazzy clean guitar riff, which is then suddenly obliterated by the freight train that is My Ticket Home's heavy side, it's almost as if they were laughing in its face with such a sudden and radical change. Beyond contains a couple slower parts, but it never gets any lighter. Even though it is heavy, it isn't loaded with breakdowns. The lack of breakdowns gives it an almost angst-y and punk feel throughout the 2:29 that is Beyond.

Motion Sickness is definitely one of the heaviest songs on the album, featuring heavy breakdowns, yet it contains some cool guitar parts, and spectacular drums. This song seriously isn't for the faint of heart, but you shouldn't let that stop you, the absence of singing makes this song stand out amongst the rest, and makes it even more intense. Running for only 2:09, this song is seriously fast, but man, this song is sick.

The 7th track, A Thief Of One, A Thief Of Many begins with one of the most memorable parts on the album, with gang vocal chants singing "We're gonna find them where they hide". With drums going full speed in the background, this is a definite recipe for awesomeness. There are a few awesome breakdowns, and the chorus is quite great. This song has very sudden starts and stops that make it very unique and interesting; I promise, you'll be on alert.

Awake : Create doesn't just have a cool song title, it's one of the more upbeat songs on the album, but not to the point where it's fast. It's chorus is one of the catchiest on the whole album, it's repeated enough times to stick in your head and I ensure that it will really stick with you. The drums are amazing, and the song itself is one of the most memorable and standout songs of To Create A Cure.

Track 9, The Dream Code, has a feel that is very relative to the title. It really is quite the song, and almost feels as if one is listening to the song in a dream. Completely filled with clean vocals, The Dream Code, in my opinion, is one of the best songs on the album. Simply put, it's unique, beautiful and just well-put together! Feels very slightly like the title song off of their first EP The Opportunity To Be, but it is definitely completely different in the sense that it isn't as slow, and has different components.

Dark Days, the 10th track, begins with a drum part with some guitar effect layered in the background that feels slightly like Emmure, but is definitely original. One of the 3 heaviest songs on the album, it's loaded with heavy breakdowns and un-relenting screams. This song is definitely dark, and obviously pissed, I wouldn't want to be the person the song is about.

Fear Complex… I really don't know how to put this song into words. It's the most intense song I've heard in my entire life, and it really feels and scares like a horror movie. The beginning is horrifying, and will probably make you question the vocalist's sanity, but before you can realize what's going on, an insanely heavy breakdown kicks in and leaves you with your jaw on the floor. It doesn't stop there either, there is a lot of cut up and effect-filled vocals, that really add an eerie feel to this song. The chorus to this song is a change of a pace, but it doesn't hold back the element of fear that's strongly involved… there's always some feeling of eerie-ness in the song. Fear Complex really feels like a horror movie while listening, and the lyrics are just as dark. "You said you wanted to help me, you lied to me", reminds me of the Sixth Sense, a movie not nearly as scary as this song. I was in awe the first time I heard it, well done.

The entire album has a really ambitious, unique and fun feel to it, My Ticket Home seriously has something awesome. This album is surely one to put the controversy of similarities between My Ticket Home and Attack Attack! to rest, with many innovative and unique parts within. In conclusion, To Create A Cure is a real game changer.

RAMN Exclusive: VAN HALEN - A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH Album Track-By-Track Review!!

Van Halen Album Review Track-By-Track:

Tattoo -

The song start with Queen style vocal harmony "Tattoo, Tattoo" that makes you think - wow this could be interesting.

The whole band kicks in with an EVH guitar scrape with EVH providing both a basic rhythm and squealing harmonic lead riff along with Alex's distinctive drum sound. At this point you know this tune is gonna rock

The song settles down into the first verse with just a simple beat and rhythm from Wolf and Alex with smoldering DLR vocal - the song builds and we get some subtle keyboards and then EVH starts to chug away into the pre chorus and hook that grabs you. The chorus is a simple "Tattoo, Tattoo" but its effective in drawing you in.

Second verse is much of the same - EVH comes in with some chugging riffs again leading into the pre chorus and chorus.

We then get a middle 8 section leading into the the EVH guitar solo - which of course is lots of fast tapping and complex runs, though nothing new for EVH, the solo is well structured and fits the song perfectly.

To some up this doesn't sound like classic van halen or anything else for that matter - its different and may not hit you on first listen but its what many will call a grower. We do like this song but it is clearly to the greatest song on the album.

She’s The Woman -

This song is classic Van Halen. Wolfgang is very good in this song, he really stands out in this song. The song starts off with a little EVH guitar solo and then into the first verse. The chorus of this song is just “She’s The Woman” BUT.. it is very catchy! The drumming is very plain but still good. There is also a awesome guitar solo in this song by Eddie. In the guitar solo in this song Ed uses sounds he usually does not use it is amazing and is really unique! The verse’s in this song is the catchiest part of the entire song! It is a very good song!

"You and Your Blues" -

This song starts off with a catchy classic style EVH riff with david singing over it introducing the song! Then the song kicks in and it is a great song! This has a bluesy feel to it and the song really emphasises Dave’s vocals. Dave really puts some bluesy feel feeling on this track! The vocal tracks seem to be over dubbed which makes that much better. His singing absolutely amazing on the album so far!

"China Town" -

This song is absolutely mind blowing! In our opinions it is the best song on the entire album! It starts off with a amazing very short guitar solo and then into the song! This is a cool upbeat song that really pumps you up to listen to the rest of the record. This is clearly the heaviest song on the entire album with Alex keeping that heavy double kick drum beat! The whole song is absolutely amazing! This is a song that should have been the single!

"Blood & Fire" -

opens up with eddie van halen introducing the song with some clean guitar then David Lee Roth comes in and all I thought was uh oh is this going to be another disliked van halen song.. but I was glady wrong!

This song is classic Van Halen with a little modern twist to it. Eddie’s guitar sounds a little different on this track then some of the other new songs. The chorus is much better then the chorus in “Tattoo”. At the 2:40 point Eddie comes in with what could be the best Guitar solo on the entire album “A Different Kind of Truth”.

"Bullethead" -

It looks like this is the track they got their album title from as they say, “You got A Different Kind of Truth”. It is another fast passe up tempo rockin’ song with some more amazing EVH guitar! Which is what we were looking for! It has got some classic Dave singing with him singing “Bu-Bu-Bu-Bu-Bu-Bu-Bullethead”. This song has another rippin’ solo by EVH! This is very old school Van Halen and it is another great Van Halen song to add to your collection.

"As Is" -

It starts with a very funny count in then comes in with Alex pounding on the drums with a neat affect on the drums then into Eddie playing in a really heavy tuning with some awesome guitar squealing! The intro kind of remind me of their song “Everybody Wants Some”. Then it really kicks in and it is a awesome rock n' roll song. The main riff by Eddie is awesome. Then comes another kick ass EVH guitar solo with... what is that??? tapping!!! This is a song that Dave is perfect for singing also.

"Honeybabysweetiedoll" -

In the beginning of this song it has some weird guitar sounds and effects in it that blows your mind! It has a feel in it like “Strung Out” did. It has a very Vivian Campbell sounding riff in it! This is another awesomely heavy song on the album. The guitar really makes the song with the "Chug Chug Chug"'s.

"The Trouble with Never" -

This song opens up with Eddie playing this amazing riff and then in to The Chorus which is very catchy. This is a perfect song for David Lee Roth to sing in my opinion. David kind of sounds like Paul Stanley at some parts in this song.

In around the half way point in the song Eddie starts up his guitar solo and it is absolutely unbelievable. Eddie really impressed me on this track.

So, after the some David does some spoken word stuff with wolfgang playing bass over it then Eddie come back in with a some sick heavy guitar riffs. This song was a big highlight on the album.

"Outta Space" -

This is another upbeat song. I could first tell the guitar riff was from a old demo of there’s called, Let’s Get Rockin’. The riff’s are classic old school EVH on this song and it sounds great! EVH also has another amazing guitar solo in this one! This song has a very good chorus that - like usual for Van Halen songs - gets stuck in your head. Ed has another rockin' solo in this song like usual. If you want a little preview of this song check out their Demo Let’s Get Rockin because it sounds a lot like that song but obviously with different lyrics and a much different vocal approach to the song.

"Stay Frosty" -

This song is amazing! It is almost like a part 2 of “ice cream man”. It starts acoustic guitar with Dave’s bluesy singing and then the songs EXPLODES! Eddie is absolutely spectacular in this song! There are solo’s all over the place in this song! It is the perfect Van Halen song!!

Big River -

Right when I heard the guitar intro I knew this was Van Halen’s really old demo called, Big Trouble. The riff in this song is really awesome! Then comes a another sick Guitar solo from Ed! This is prime VH! This is another song that Wolfgang really stands out in!

Beat’s Workin -

This is a perfect ending to the album! It is the longest song clocking in at 5 minuets. The beginning sounds like it is a ACDC song. The riff’s are amazing in it! The bass line in it is very well written as well! The dynamics in this song are perfect! This song ends the album so perfectly that you think to your self... WOW THAT WHOLE ALBUM WAS UNBELIEVABLE!

In conclusion we are so so so so so soooo happy that Van Halen wrote this new album for the fans and not to get hits on the radio! This album is going to be huge! The production on this entire album is amazing. The whole album is perfect old school Van Halen with a modern twist! This will really please all Van Halen fans! Dave is amazing on this album and it is a great come back Van Halen album for him! Eddie is also spectacular on this album!

Hey guys!,
We have some breaking news! The new Van Halen album ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ is being listened to, secretly by a few people around the world (close friends of VH, family member of VH and more). Interscope records is doing an amazing job makeing sure the full album does not leak. Oh yeah.. Did we tell you that we happen to know someone that heard the full album! Well we do and we talked to him about it and this is what we got out of him! (We are not trying to scam anyone with this review, we are simply trying to get the word out about the new VH album and we hope all this review does is pump you up for when you buy it! Hope you like the review!)

First off, he said that the whole album “is better in some ways and worse in some ways then I expected” then went on to say that “the best songs in my opinion on the entire album were Beats Workin, China Town, As Is, and She’s The Woman”. He said that “As Is was a ballad and was one of the slowest songs on the album but was one of the best on the album also”. He said that "China Town is the heaviest song on the entire record which is a really good thing". He said, "China Town has a lot of heavy drumming, like double kick drumming with amazing EVH heavy riffingo over it!". He also mentioned that, “She’s the woman will be a big song among the fans. She’s The Woman was a song I played a few times because it rocked so much! It is classic Van Halen!”. He said that, "Honeybabysweetiedoll was very weird.. It had some weird guitar sounds and affects in it that blows your mind!". He said, "The Trouble With Never was very good too! That song had a amazing guitar solo by EVH and it also had some spoken word stuff from David!". He said that "Blood and Fire was a song on the album that got in my head fast! It is really catchy and it also had some clean EVH guitar is it to start up the song!". He also said that “More than a FEW of the songs are older songs they have never put on previous albums. Most die hard VH fans will know when they listen”. When we asked him if the album was a heavy Van Halen record he replied with a “no”. He said that, “it was middle of the road type stuff. None of it is going to get them new fans of HEAVY music, it was just what a Van Halen fan want’s CLASSIC ROCK! with a modern twist actually!”. Another comment was that Tattoo the - first single on the album - is "one of the worst songs on the album".

He said that, “David Lee Roth was way better then usual and was the best part of this album. Roth really does a good job and did not disappoint”. He noticed that, “David Lee Roth seemed to be using different voices and vocal effects on the album, I am not sure if this is because he cant sing like he used to be able to or what.. This is DLR’s best album he has done in his career singing wise”. He also mentioned to us that Wolfgang did an extraordinary job on the bass throughout the entire album. When we asked him what he would rate the full album on first listen he replied, “uhm.. I would rate it pretty high because I have loved Van Halen from the start so I think it is a 7/10”. He then went on to say, “A Different Kind of Truth is a MUST HAVE and it is a return to form, and this shows you who the big boys are!”. In his opinion “the album is a MUST HAVE for Van Halen fans and fans of good rock and roll music”. He said that “If you call yourself a rocker, or metalhead you will own this album by Valentines Day!"

In conclusion it looks to us like this is going to be a good old school Van Halen album with a “modern twist”! All we can say is that Van Halen’s – Different Kind of Truth will be bought on February 7th by us! We cant wait to hear it and we hope that this review pumped you up for the album even more then you already are!!

The original lineup of the legendary heavy metal band BLACK SABBATH — Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums) — has reunited and will release a brand new album in 2012. The group's first studio effort in 33 years will be produced by Rick Rubin, who has previously worked with METALLICA, SLIPKNOT, SLAYER and SYSTEM OF A DOWN, among many others. A world tour will follow, including an appearance at the U.K.'s Download festival on June 10, 2012.

Iommi told U.K.'s Terrorizer magazine that the four original members of BLACK SABBATH recently got together in a rehearsal room for the first time in years, adding, "[We] played some of the old stuff and to be together again was great. We're all on good terms and we're at a stage where we can play together again. It would be good if we could and I suppose it's the closest it's been to be able to do that."

Osbourne told Billboard.com last month that a reunion of the original BLACK SABBATH lineup was a "very, very strong possibility." He added, "It's in the very early stages, so we haven't recorded anything yet. If it works out, it'll work out. If it doesn't, I'll keep doing my thing."

The Birmingham Mail reported in August that the original SABBATH lineup had begun rehearsing and writing music in secret for a new album. The Mail based its story around remarks made by Iommi, who later said the comments were off the record and taken out of context. Iommi's manager, however, did not deny that a reunion was underway.

Speculation about a reunion was fueled later that month when Ozzy skipped the Hollywood premiere of the documentary about his life, "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne". Both his son Jack and daughter Kelly hinted at the time that their dad was "doing something that is very, very exciting."

SABBATH did try to record a new album 12 years ago, the original lineup's first since 1978, but abandoned the attempt after just a couple of songs. The original lineup has not toured together since summer 2005 and last appeared together when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006.

Osbourne and Iommi last year amicably resolved their problems over the ownership of the BLACK SABBATH name and court proceedings in New York were discontinued.

Ozzy filed a lawsuit against Iommi in May 2009, claiming that Iommi illegally took sole ownership of the band's name in a filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Osbourne sued Iommi for a 50 percent interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name.

The Manhattan federal court suit also charged that Osbourne's "signature lead vocals" are largely responsible for the band's "extraordinary success," noting that its popularity plummeted during his absence from 1980 through 1996.

Lawyer Andrew DeVore argued that Osbourne signed away all his rights to the BLACK SABBATH trademark after he quit the band in 1979.

Osbourne's lawyer, Howard Shire, called that agreement a "red herring" that was "repudiated" when the singer rejoined in 1997 and took over "quality control" of the band's merchandise, tours and recordings.

Selling over 70 million albums together, the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have signed a new record deal worldwide with Vertigo and Vertigo/ Universal Republic in the U.S., the band’s original label. German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN will release a new single, "Mein Land", on November 14 (three days earlier in Germany, Austria and Switzerland). It will be made available as a four-track CD digipak, as well as a seven-inch vinyl with two tracks. In addition to "Mein Land", it includes the previously unreleased song "Vergiss Uns Nicht", as well as remixes of the title cut by BossHoss and Mogwai.

The video for "Mein Land" was recently filmed with renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund — who has previously worked with METALLICA, SATYRICON, OZZY OSBOURNE, MADONNA and THE PRODIGY, among others — and will make its online debut on November 11 at Rammstein.com.

"Mein Land" comes off RAMMSTEIN's retrospective of the band's most significant songs, to be released in November in conjunction with the band's new European headlining tour. Entitled "Made In Germany 1995 - 2011", the set will include 20 of RAMMSTEIN's best tracks, one new song, as well as the entire video catalogue for the first time on CD/DVD.

RAMMSTEIN's latest album, "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da", sold 22,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart. Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD have set "Resolution" as the title of their new album, due on January 24, 2012 via Epic Records (one day earlier internationally through Roadrunner). The CD was once again helmed by producer Josh Wilbur, who worked on the band's last effort, 2009's "Wrath".

"Resolution" will feature 14 songs and will come in a digipack with artwork by longtime art director Ken Adams.

One of the tracks that will appear on "Resolution" includes an orchestra and a choir. "There's opera singers, a whole symphony going on… It's crazy," drummer Chris Adler told Gun Shy Assasssin about the song, which features the band's vocalist, Randy Blythe, singing slowly over the opening. "We were trying to figure out how to not be black metal but do something totally different. I think we succeeded," Adler said.

Blythe previously described "Resolution" as "WAAAAY better than 'Wrath' overall."

During its 2012 world tour, LAMB OF GOD, in connection with Epic Records and 914 Films, will shoot a feature film documenting fans and their personal stories of how they use the band's music to cope with their everyday lives.

LAMB OF GOD will be looking for one individual in each specified location to be chosen to participate in this very special event. The person selected will be involved with the full day of LAMB OF GOD activities the day of the show in your hometown!

"Wrath" sold around 68,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 2 (behind TAYLOR SWIFT's "Fearless") on The Billboard 200 chart.

LAMB OF GOD's 2006 album, "Sacrament", opened with around 63,000 units to land at No. 8. This represented almost double the amount of records sold by its predecessor, "Ashes Of The Wake", which registered a first-week tally of 35,000 in September 2004.

"Wrath" was released in North America on February 24, 2009 via Epic. The CD was issued in other territories through Roadrunner Records.

The "Wrath" album was released in four configurations: an LP, a CD, a deluxe-edition CD with bonus disc — which contains isolated recording parts — as well as a super-deluxe version featuring a limited-edition box containing an LP, deluxe-edition CD and USB drive containing two exclusive bonus tracks.

In a recent interview with Greek webzine Rock Overdose, Tom "Angelripper" Such of German Teutonic thrash metal band Sodom revealed that the band is currently working on a new album, with two songs completed and aiming for a 2012 release.

He says: "Nowdays we have started writing new songs for the next album, we wanna do a new album next year, I don't wanna have fans waiting so long like the black album that took 4 years waiting and I told our record company that I like to do records every two years, maybe every year. Next year we have a 30 year anniversary and I wanna do the new album, and I wanna do a special box set with old DVDs for the fans and celebrate it with a special show. We have a couple of songs together, we are going to go in the studio next May or June to start recording the new album. I want to release the new album in 2012 definitely."

Hawthorne Heights is an American rock band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2001. Their line-up currently consists of lead-singer and rhythm guitarist JT Woodruff, lead-guitarist and vocalist Micah Carli, bassist and backing vocalist Matt Ridenour, and drummer Eron Bucciarelli.

The band will be releasing an EP trilogy, beginning with Hate which was released on August 23, 2011.

Hate opens up with There was a Kid which sets the tone for the album. This is a kid that is very lonely no friends, no parents basically no one around. Good opening tune for Hate. The album then goes into Is This What You Wanted? which has the feel of someone drifting and confused, it goes heavy and brings you down again. Divided We Fall starts off with a faster tempo and has a great melody to it which carries the song. Then we get into the the title track Hate. This song is basically about hating everything, mom, dad, everyone, everything and has the feeling of loneliness, anger and sadness. The CD then picks up tempo with Wasted in NYC, a little more of an optimistic song, faster and has the sense of someone putting themselves back together, great melody to the song. Stay Awake/Stay Alive is a song that carriers on the up beat tempo and has the feeling of travelling and moving forward, this song would be great to see live.

The album's next two tracks, Oceans and Four White Walls bring you back into some turmoil of life and the loneliness of "the kid" again, someone who feels confused and closed in. The ending track Passengers lets us all know we are passengers of life and to fight for the here and now. It describes the passengers as people as the collective, can we save the world or burn it down, ending in a dreaming floating question mark.

Overall this is a very interesting album to listen to and it brings up much thought and emotion. The song order is definitely planned out and brings you through some ups and downs which life is full of. Go out and buy the new Hawthorne Heights and take the ride of Hate. It leaves you wanting to hear the follow up, hopefully it progresses in an upward direction as the arrow on the Hate cover indicates.

Metallica, Lou Reed Release Details For Joint Album ‘LuLu’

More details have been revealed regarding the musical collaboration project between Metallica and Lou Reed about their upcoming album. In a statement released on their website, it was revealed that the record will be titled Lulu and is scheduled for a November 1 release in North America. The title, and indeed the album itself, is inspired by two early 19th century plays by German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind. “Earth Spirit” and “Pandora’s Box” tell the tale of a “young abused dancer’s life and relationships,” according to the statement.
The combo, who appear to have dubbed themselves “Loutallica,” have also released titles for three of the ten tracks that will feature on LuLu. They are “Junior Dad,” “Mistress Dread,” and “Pumping Blood.”

Van Halen's lead-off single from their upcoming new album, their first with David Lee Roth in 27 years, is said to be called Late Term and could be released next Tuesday, 23 August.
We should stress, however, that this could all be mere speculation, for while the information comes from a reputable news outlet, The Boston Herald, it is attributed to "a friend of a friend who is tight with someone in the Van Halen camp." In other words, it's hardly official.
Already this summer there was a false alarm of new Van Halen music when rumors swept the internet that an unnamed single was going to be released over the 4th of July weekend. Adding fuel to that fire was a simple yet cryptic message on David Lee Roth's official website that read, "Get Ready..."
Ready for what? New music, apparently. OK, we're ready...

Black Sabbath: Tony Iommi kills reunion rumours

Tony Iommi has cleared the air on the latest round of Black Sabbath reunion rumours: it ain’t happening.

Seems a reporter for the Birmingham Mail took some comments allegedly made by Iommi a few months ago and wrote them up today as a new headline.

Andy Coleman of the Mail’s story (here)said the band was writing and rehearsing for a new studio album and tour.

“We’re really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we’ve been writing is really good," the Mail reported Iommi as saying. "It’s more back to the old original stuff."

He added that the reunion has been kept under wraps for some time. "It’s all been very hush-hush,” Iommi reportedly added. “Ozzy’s been the worst at trying to hold it back. He’s doing a lot of TV and he’s being asked stuff about a reunion and he’s going ‘well I never say never’. He told me, ‘I don’t know what to say’."

Sabbath reunion headlines around the world followed the item, but Iommi was quick to clarify the situation.

“I'm saddened that a Birmingham journalist whom I trusted has chosen this point in time to take a conversation we had back in June and make it sound like we spoke yesterday about a Black Sabbath reunion,” wrote Iommi on Tuesday. “At the time I was supporting the Home of Metal exhibition and was merely speculating, shooting the breeze, on something all of us get asked constantly, "Are you getting back together?"

“Thanks to the internet, it's gone round the world as some sort of "official" statement on my part, absolute nonsense,” added the guitarist. “I hope he's enjoyed his moment of glory, he won't have another at my expense.”

“To my old pals, Ozzy, Geezer and Bill, sorry about this, I should have known better.”

The band have been shooting down reunion talk for ages, and Iommi’s comments are consistent with the message to date.

Reunited Original Lineup Of BLACK SABBATH Working On New Album CONFIRMED

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has confirmed to Birmingham Mail that the band's original lineup has reunited and is rehearsing for a tour and new studio album.

Iommi and singer Ozzy Osbourne wrote new material in June for a record that will be released next year.

"We're really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we've been writing is really good," said Iommi. "It's more back to the old original stuff."

He added that the reunion has been kept under wraps for some time.

"It's all been very hush-hush. Ozzy's been the worst at trying to hold it back. He's doing a lot of TV and he's being asked stuff about a reunion and he's going, 'Well, I never say never.' He told me, 'I don't know what to say."

Iommi told the Birmingham Mail that his only apprehension about a reunion of BLACK SABBATH's original lineup was the health of drummer Bill Ward who in 1998 suffered a heart attack.

"He hasn't been 100 percent. He had an operation a few months ago, so we'll see how he is."

Ozzy was asked by QMI Agency in a recent interview why the four members of SABBATH couldn't seem to agree on playing together again. Ozzy replied, "I haven't got a clue. If they want to call me, they can call me. I never say never. If it works, fine. If it don't, I'll move on. It ain't the end of the world. I ain't gonna get a box of Kleenex and cry my eyes out for the rest of my life."

Ozzy added, "I would love to do a great album with BLACK SABBATH. I would love to get the credit we so roundly deserve. At the same time, the pressure would be really intense. I could go tomorrow and make an album with them, but it wouldn't necessarily be something I would be proud of."

The original SABBATH lineup has not toured together since summer 2005, and last convened for their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in early 2006.

SABBATH did try to record a new album 12 years ago, their first since 1978, but abandoned the attempt after just a couple of songs.

Osbourne and Iommi last year amicably resolved their problems over the ownership of the BLACK SABBATH name and court proceedings in New York were discontinued.

Ozzy filed a lawsuit against Iommi in May 2009, claiming that Iommi illegally took sole ownership of the band's name in a filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Osbourne sued Iommi for a 50 percent interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name.

The Manhattan federal court suit also charged that Osbourne's "signature lead vocals" are largely responsible for the band's "extraordinary success," noting that its popularity plummeted during his absence from 1980 through 1996.

Lawyer Andrew DeVore argued that Osbourne signed away all his rights to the BLACK SABBATH trademark after he quit the band in 1979.

Osbourne's lawyer, Howard Shire, called that agreement a "red herring" that was "repudiated" when the singer rejoined in 1997 and took over "quality control" of the band's merchandise, tours and recordings.

ALTER BRIDGE/CREED guitarist Mark Tremonti, who is friends with VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, recently told Ross Ford, a morning radio show host on Colorado's 94.3 KILO, that Eddie Van Halen's son invited Tremonti to VAN HALEN's 5150 studio to watch Eddie, Wolfgang and drummer Alex Van Halen rehearse. During the visit, Mark got to hear VAN HALEN's entire album, which he said sounded like "old-school VAN HALEN."

"What makes it so great is that they took what they could from all their old demos back in the '80s and pretty much did what they could to create songs out of old ideas, so it sounds like vintage VAN HALEN," Tremonti said. "I didn't hear any vocals — David was not there. It was just the three of them. The music sounded like very authentic, old-school VAN HALEN."

Slipknot Headling Mayhem Festival 2012????

Slipknot recently completed a three-week European tour that was the band's first run of dates since the death of bassist Paul Gray in May 2010. Although singer Corey Taylor has been unsure of Slipknot's future since Gray's death, he told our sister program Harddrive Radio that the tour made him a little more optimistic.

He said, "Definitely after this tour, I'm definitely much more positive than I was. Am I ready to run into a studio? No. Everybody just slow down, 'cause it's still very fresh to me. It still doesn't make sense yet, you know, there's still a lot of healing that we've got to do before we can get there. Am I open to more tours? Absolutely. I mean, we've talked about doing something next year in the States and, you know, letting the fans kind of celebrate as well. So time will tell."

Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed has released his debut solo album. With Jasta theres just more of the thrash and rock element in it and a lot more clean singing. Mostly material recorded for other artists, Jamie decided to make this his own. Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God, Zakk Wylde, Phil Labonte from All That Remains, Tim from As I Lay Dying and Mark Morton from Lamb Of God. This is a fun project before the next Hatebreed album.

BISON B.C. to join Weedeater and Saviours for North American Tour
BISON B.C. are finally heading back out on the road this fall! The Vancouver, BC based riff-machine will be joining Weedeater, Saviours and Fight Amp from September 2nd in Lawrence, KS through October 14th in Savannah, GA. The tour will be BISON b.c.'s first full tour with new drummer Matt Wood.

James, Dan, Masa and Matt will be delivering songs from 2010's Dark Ages, an album that Revolver Magazine heralded as "the best meat-and-potatoes stoner-metal record" of 2010, which also earned the a spot in the magazine's top 20 albums of that year. Dark Ages also received praise from Decibel Magazine in that it was described to contain "thrash, smash and fuck-you-up energy that'll soil your britches faster than a bottle of Mexican moonshine". The Sacramento Press claimed that BISON b.c.'s "music is thunderous, bone-shaking and most of all, heavy. Really heavy. These cats have got their own gravitational pull."

Yesterday it was a track from Mastodon’s new record, and today it’s Opeth’s turn – the track is ‘The Devil’s Orchard’, from the band’s tenth studio album, Heritage. The song was on youtube for everyone to listen to but has now been taken off from copyright claims by warner music group. A new video has just been posted that has the audio of the song in it!!

"Black Tongue", a brand new song from Atlanta's MASTODON has been "leaked" this morning but their record company have been removing the links as soon as they go up on youtube and sound cloud. The track comes off the band's new album, "The Hunter", which is tentatively due this fall..

On Day 2 of the biggest metal festival in ontario called Heavy TO Fest and The final 3 bands that played the festival were Slayer, Billy Talent and Rob Zombie. . During Billy Talents set people where booing and throwing things at the stage. at 1 point everyone started chanting Zombie. People where getting impatient waiting for Rob Zombie to hit the stage so it was good that the front man of billy talent had a sense of humour about all the booing and objects being thrown at the band. We thought it was a little strange having Billy Talent close one of the stages at the Heavy TO Festival slotted between Slayer and Rob Zombie. What do you guys think?

Puscifer releases first new single "Man Overboard" July 18 2011

For more than 20 years Tool's Maynard James Keenan has been crafting music. His latest is "Man Overboard," the first single from his other band Puscifer's second studio album, Conditions of My Parole, out October 18.

"Musically, it's like Twin Peaks in the desert," Keenan tells SPIN of the LP and its first single, recorded at his Northern Arizona vineyards. "Man Overboard" is a shadowy industrial boil with revving-Harley guitar riffs, a rolling-tank bass line, and skyward synths fit for a goth choir.

Mark from Blink 182 posted on his website one week ago "today two of our songs are getting sent out for mix, within days they will be delivered to the label, within two weeks they should be out in the world." This looks like it means in the next week we are probably going to get some new blink music!
The duo did confirm that one of the new songs is titled "Ghosts on the Dance Floor," which has been widely reported, but said it's not about the deaths of former blink producer Jerry Finn and DJ AM, but DeLonge said, "One of the things I like is the fact it did strike some of those emotional chords in people. Blink plans to continue touring following the album's expected fall release.

America Torn Asunder 2011 Tour, will take them around the country, along with support from Lazarus A.D., Landmine Marathon and Diamond Plate.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new single, "Under It And Over It", will debut tomorrow (Wednesday, July 27) on radio stations nationwide as well as online here at RockAndMetalNewz.BlogSpot.com. The single art can be seen below.

"Under And Over It" is the debut single from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's third album, "American Capitalist", which hits stores on October 11. The CD was recorded at The Hideout in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko, who helmed Ozzy Osbourne's 2010 effort "Scream".

"This record crystallizes the sound of DEATH PUNCH," says guitarist Zoltan Bathory. Singer Ivan Moody adds, "I literally laid every ounce of blood I had on this one. We are a people's band. Our fans understand us because of who we are. We've never tried to be anybody else but FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. If you're inclined to please the whole world, you've got to take a step back and realize that at the end of the day, you have to be you — first and foremost. Otherwise, you're useless to anyone else."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH worked on the set in Las Vegas, which four of its five current members call home, and Zoltan Bathory told The Pulse Of Radio living and working in Sin City can be distracting. "Writing a record is not like a nine-to-five job," he said. "It's a 24/7 job, you know. Once you're done with the studio, you have to go home and we still, you know, keep writing. So that's how it gets distracting because, you know, you kind of — you worked already whole day, you want to relax, but in the second you want to relax for a second, Las Vegas will get you. You know, there's always something going on and you have to force yourself to not be distracted."
