Maximum Threshold.net RockAndMetalNewz Report - Opeth - Big 4 - Slipknot and more!!

What’s better than watching the Big 4 play together? How about the Magnificent 7? Some 60,000 festival-goers hoping to watch Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax perform together on stage at Knebworth got more than they bargained for when members of seven bands joined forces to jam the Diamond Head classic ‘Am I Evil’ at Sonisphere UK. Alongside members of the Big 4, Andreas Kisser from Sepultura (filling in for Anthrax’s Scott Ian), Gary Holt from Exodus filling in for Jeff  and fittingly Brian Tatler from Diamond Head all thrashed it out. That’s one show you’re pretty much guaranteed to never see again.
MEGADETH has set "TH1RT3EN" as the title of its new album, tentatively due in November via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at MEGADETH Dave Mustaine's studio in San Marcos, California with producer Johnny K. The artwork will once again be created by artist John Lorenzi. One of the songs that will appear on "TH1RT3EN", "Public Enemy No. 1", was premiered during MEGADETH's headlining performance on July 4 in Hamburg, Germany.

"Witness The Addiction", a brand new song from California deathcore masters SUICIDE SILENCE, can be streamed on line. The track, which features a guest appearance by KORN frontman Jonathan Davis, comes off the band's new album, "The Black Crown", due on July 12 via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded with heavyweight producer Steve Evetts and features guest appearances by KORN singer Jonathan Davis and SUFFOCATION frontman Frank Mullen.

Legendary guitarist Slash recently wrote and performed a song for what his calls his "guilty pleasure," Disney Channel's original movie "Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension", which is scheduled to premiere on Friday, August 5 on Disney Channel.
