Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame 2012 Induction! - Play-By-Play Live Coverage Of The Event!! - April 14th 2012!

The lights went out then Green Day come on the stage to open the show with one of their new unreleased songs titled, "Letterbomb". "Tonight this is not a fucking goddamn fucking party. IT'S A CELEBRATION MOTHERFUCKERS!" says the Billy Joe (Frontman of Green Day). After Green Day performed Terry Stewart, president & CEO of , giving opening address: "The entire city has been on fire for 11 days." he says. He thanks OHIO Governor Kasich, "whose support was very instrumental in making tonight happen." Crowd boos. Jann Wenner goes on stage. "Hello Cleveland!". She then lists off the inductees for the night. She says, "Rod Stewart, Axl Rose and Adam Yauch won't be here with us tonight. We send them our love, our respect and our prayers." and the crowd again boos when Axl Rose's name was mentioned. They then show a video of the highlights from previous the ceremonies. ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill then come on stage to induct Freddie King. Freddie King's daughter Wanda accepts it on his behalf. "I look just like him, right? she states. Freddie King's daughter Wanda then tells a story about her dad meeting 14-year-old Stevie Ray Vaughn. Then tells a story about breaking her dad's Les Paul by running through the house. ZZ Top then performs in honor of Freddie King. Derek Trucks and Joe Bonamassa then joins ZZ Top for this Freddie King tribute. ZZ Top and friends now doing King's "Going Down". Mellencamp then comes out to induct Donovan. He starts to read the liner notes from his first Donovan record. Mellencamp finishes up his entertaining long speech then Donovan finally comes on stage. "Thank you, Don. That was quite an introduction." says Donovan. Donovan then reads a poem inspired by his induction. Donovan says, "I was branded by my beauty/ But protected by my art/ Many plundered me for booty/ But only one did steal my heart". Donovan then starts singing "Catch the Wind" and "Sunshine Superman." Bette Midler then comes out to induct Laura Nyro. "She was the very essence of New York City... I get verklempt just thinking about it." Midler says. Nyro's son accepted for her. Sara Bareilles then performs in tribute. Carole King then comes out to induct producer, publisher and TV host Don Kirshner. "What Donnie was most fired up about was getting the follow-up to a hit." says Carole. Carole King tells the story of Don Kirshner inventing The Monkees.
