Zakk Wylde ...new book!
Sodom working on new album for 2012!
In a recent interview with Greek webzine Rock Overdose, Tom "Angelripper" Such of German Teutonic thrash metal band Sodom revealed that the band is currently working on a new album, with two songs completed and aiming for a 2012 release. He says: "Nowdays we have started writing new songs for the next album, we wanna do a new album next year, I don't wanna have fans waiting so long like the black album that took 4 years waiting and I told our record company that I like to do records every two years, maybe every year. Next year we have a 30 year anniversary and I wanna do the new album, and I wanna do a special box set with old DVDs for the fans and celebrate it with a special show. We have a couple of songs together, we are going to go in the studio next May or June to start recording the new album. I want to release the new album in 2012 definitely." |

METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER, ANTHRAX Perform MISFITS Classic "Die, Die My Darling" Live In Italy - Footage Available
The "Big Four" bands of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX — played the third show of their European tour earlier tonight (Wednesday, July 6) at Arena Fiera Rho in Milan, Italy.
The highly anticipated onstage performance of the "Big Four" bands at the same time happened near the end of METALLICA's set, between "Enter Sandman" and "Damage Inc.". Members of ANTHRAX, SLAYER and MEGADETH joined METALLICA on stage for a cover of MISFITS' "Die, Die My Darling" before METALLICA ended the night with "Creeping Death".
According to Musica Metal, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian, who is sitting out nearly a dozen shows on the band's current tour in order to spend time with his family following the birth of his first child (his temporary replacement is SEPULTURA's Andreas Kisser), rejoined the group exclusively for the Italian date, claiming halfway through ANTHRAX's set that he loves Italy too much to miss out on the opportunity to play the country again. Ian also took part in the "Big Four" jam session, as did SLAYER's Dave Lombardo, who missed the Gothenburg "Big Four" jam on July 3 because he was getting tattoo work done on his arm. SLAYER guitarists Kerry King and Gary Holt (filling in for Jeff Hanneman) each had a beer on stage during the "Die, Die My Darling" performance, but didn't participate in the jam.
METALLICA's setlist was as follows:
01. Hit the Lights
02. Master Of Puppets
03. The Shortest Straw
04. Seek & Destroy
05. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
06. Ride The Lightning
07. Through The Never
08. All Nightmare Long
09. Sad But True
10. The Call Of Ktulu
11. One
12. For Whom The Bell Tolls

14. Fade To Black
15. Enter Sandman
Encore:
16. Die, Die My Darling (w/ SLAYER, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX)
17. Damage, Inc.
18. Creeping Death
The members of SLAYER could not join the July 2 "Am I Evil?" (DIAMOND HEAD) jam at the "Big Four" show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany due to their travel arrangements to get to the next concert. They also missed the following night's performance of "Helpless" (DIAMOND HEAD) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

In introducing the track, MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine said from the stage, "I wanted to do something for you tonight to show you how much we appreciate you instead of saying you're a great audience. We're gonna play a new song for you. This song is from our new record, [it's] never been played anywhere, never been heard by anybody but us. This song is called 'Public Enemy No. 1'."
